Classic !!The Mad Rapper took the afternoon off to check out an epic Rails thread
Classic !!Here we got my man Mr. Numero 85 speaking about the late B.I.G:
With the way music and artist change and grow over time during their careers can imagine how great Biggie would've been today #EPIC
Who is he kidding? Musically-speaking, B.I.G went out at the right time. If you listen closely, you can hear the people who don't know a thing or two about the game cry out in blasphemy. Get over it. I'm glad your favorite song to listen to when your drunk is Big Poppa, but lets just leave it at that - you are just someone who is an annoying drunk. As a matter of fact, how did you even get to the mad rappers blog?
Lets get this straight right now. I mean no disrespect to the man who was killed 14 years ago today. This post is strictly speaking to the legacy of his music and how some people tweet when they shouldn't. I wont name names of who I think is better because face it, everyone has their pick at top 5 dead-or-alive (and lets not forget the substantial hate mail the Mad Rapper X already has to sift through).
Was he a good rapper? Yes. His music, excluding any of that posthumous + 16 days bullshit, is a snapshot of that mid-90s East New York sound aka the last chance of Hip Hop. This was a time when rappers did songs with true R&B singers like Mary J. Blige. The music was not so manufactured as it is now. If he were alive today, I can guarantee that his quality would have slumped substantially.
Look at Biggies hype man Puff Daddy (Sean Combs will always be Puff Daddy. Dont listen to him when he tells you to call him Diddy). He is selling cheap-tasting vodka now. I cant help but wonder if B.I.G would have been a cameo on MTB 1-5. The number of collaborations he would have had today would be ridiculous. Method Man was right when he said that B.I.G wouldn't have done half the tracks that were mixed on his posthumous duets album. Shit, look things were starting to get out of hand in '97.Ok, so now you are probably wondering what needs to happen. Well let me spell it out for you:
Puffy needs to quit tarnishing the legacy of the Notorious B.I.G with subpar material (including movies)
Ochocinco needs to stick to tweeting things he knows about, such as getting dropped from vh1 after 1 season or not making the playoffs
and you, Reader, need to keep it tuned in to the Mad Rapper X. Peace
